Healthy Snack Bars for Adults and Children from Pulsin {Review and Giveaway}
We are already a few weeks into our summer holidays now. One of the biggest differences I Have noticed so far is just how much extra snacks we seem to be needing. I started to worry we wouldn't find enough variety in snacks throughout the summer so when Pulsin got in contact with us to try their range this summer.
Pulsin is a range of healthy snacks and protein powders which are produced right here in the UK, in Gloucestershire. They believe that everyone should be able to have a healthy snack that tastes great too. It all began after 3 friends Ben, Nick and Simon decided to start a business together after meeting at university. Late one night in 2006 they sat at Nick's Mums kitchen table making up their first ever product, their first Energy balls. In 2007 the whole operation came to life inside the first kitchen in London. They have come a long way in over 10 years to have extended their whole range to include a wide selection of healthy energy bars, children's bars and protein powders.
We received a whole selection of the Pulsin range for the whole family to enjoy. We had a bundle of Fruity oat Bars from the Pulsin Kids range along with a selection of Pulsin Fruit and Nut bars and another selection from the Pulsin Raw Choc Brownies. They came along with this lovely tote bag which is perfect for keeping in the changing bag for when we do pop into a shop and need a bag. They couldn't have arrived at a better time for us either. We have been getting out as much as we can and it means we need snacks which are portable, good for us and of course delicious. The Pulsin range is the perfect answer.
Pulsin have most recently brought out their range of Fruity Oat Bars for children which are made with children in mind. The Pulsin Kids range of healthy Fruity Oat Bars are one of your five a day while containing less sugar than some other fruit snacks on the market. Not only are they healthier but they are perfect for everyone diet so on days out with friends everyone can enjoy the same snack! These bars are gluten free, diary free, soya free and they are suitable for vegans! There are three flavours in the Pulsin Kids range which are strawberry, apple and blackcurrant and finally orange choc chip.
You'll also see above that they are a great size for a snack while staying within the recommended calories of 100g per healthy snack from Change4Life. As you can see above the nutritional values are very well balanced and provide just what our children need from their snacks throughout the day.
I was a little excited to get D and S to try the Pulsin Kids range, D can be opposed to trying something that has a new texture. At first he was hesitant and didn't really want to try a bar but he soon came round after S and I started to try our own. The final convincing factor was the bright and bold pattern on the Pulsin Kids Fruity Oat Bars, he was particularly excited to try the apple and blackberry flavour which comes in a green and purple packet. Green is his favourite colour, I'm sure he'd say it was his favourite flavour if he could apply it across the board too. As you can see S had none of those problems and literally couldn't wait to get her hands on a bar! I'm so glad to say that they have been a real hit. D has loved the apple and blackberry along with the strawberry flavours of the Pulsin Kids Fruity Oat Bars. Which was a bit surprising as he'd not usually a fan of strawberry flavours. S has loved them all with her favourite being the strawberry. She just has to see the packaging to get excited.
After the children both enjoyed their own bars so much I was looking forward to trying these Pulsin Fruit and Nut Bar which we received in Raspberry and Acai, berry & Beetroot along with Caco and Raisin. These little bars are perfect for carrying around in your handbag for quick snacks throughout the day. They really do have a great taste and I can say I must say my favourite bar from the fruit and nut range was the raspberry & acai which was delicious. I was a little surprised as I've had products with acai before which I hated. At the same time I was a bit excited to try the berry & beetroot which I wasn't keen on. Although I know I like both flavours.
Now as you can expect the Pulsin Fruit and Nut bars are larger (35g) the the Pulsin Kids range (25g) which of course pushes up the nutrional values although there isn't too much change. These bars are cold pressed which means the fruits and other goodies found inside have retained all their nutritional value since they have not been cooked. These bars are still gluten free, soya free, dairy free and suitable for Vegans.
The final product we recieved from the Pulsin range was their Raw Choc Brownies. These are the ones I was most excited to try. Who doesn't love a good brownie? These ones are even good for you! We had three flavours to try, super berry, salted caramel along with almond and raisin. They all sound just as good as they taste! There is another two flavours available in this range which are peanut choc chip and maca bliss. The Raw Choc Brownie range from Pulsin are the biggest portion sizes coming in at 50g which is reflected in the nutritional value. These are all still dairy free, gluten free and soya free while being suitable for vegetarians.
My personal favourite of the Pulsin Raw Choc Brownie range has to be the Salted Caramel, it was the first bar I tried and it was delicious! I love that these bars are high in fibre while containing fruits and nuts which help us to keep a balanced diet even on the go.
I have to say I have been really impressed by the whole Pulsin range. I was a little dubious of what D and S would think. They can both be picky when it comes to snacks. Finding the Pulsin Kids range will mean I can always have a great healthy snack that is perfect for on the go for days out as a family that both children really enjoy and it contains one of their five a day! The adult variations in the Pulsin range do not fail to impress either! Each has their own unique taste and texture while being so very satisfying. I do usually struggle to find a snack for on the go which has me feeling satisfied and makes me remember that I have eaten it after running around with two children and Pulsin have done that. The bars are all the perfect size for putting in your bag or even carrying around in your pocket. These are the perfect on the go snack for the whole family. I cannot recommend them enough.
You can purchase the Pulsin Kids range including the Strawberry, Apple and Blackcurrant along with Orange Choc Chip for £ 12.74 which is a case of 24 bars. You can also get a mixed selection case.
You can also purchase the rest of the Pulsin range which includes the Raw Choc Brownies in Super Berry, Salted Caramel and Almond and Raisin for £13.59 (9 case) or £25.76 (18 case).
